Staff Sergeant Christopher J. Babin, Louisiana Army National Guard, B Company,2nd Battalion, 156th Infantry Brigade (Mechanized), New Iberia, LA was Killed in Action in Baghdad, Iraq on January 6, 2005 when a improvised explosive device struck his Bradley fighting vehicle. He was killed with six of his fellow soldiers, five of them from Louisiana. He was a Black Sheep or member of Charlie Company, the name given to his battalion based in Houma, Louisiana.
