Staff Sergeant Christopher J. Babin

Staff Sergeant Christopher J. Babin, Louisiana Army National Guard, B Company,2nd Battalion, 156th Infantry Brigade (Mechanized), New Iberia, LA was Killed in Action in Baghdad, Iraq on January 6, 2005 when a improvised explosive device struck his Bradley fighting vehicle.  He was killed with six of his fellow soldiers, five of them from Louisiana.  He was a Black Sheep or member of Charlie Company, the name given to his battalion based in Houma, Louisiana. 

Corporal Bobby Davis

Corporal Davis was a crew chief of an A.A.V., better known as an “AMTRAK.” He was a reservist stationed in Gulfport, MS with the 3rd Platoon, Alpha Co., 4th AABN. He was activated in January 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Cpl. Davis was attached to RCT 1.

Specialist Robert Dusang

Robert L. Dusang, of Mandeville, LA, graduated from Mandeville High School in May of 1999.  While a student there he became very active in the Marine Jr. R.O.T.C. program.  He was a squad leader in the “Silent Drill” competition and won several awards.

Lance Corporal Larry Wells

Larry Wells was a native of Mt. Hermon, Louisiana, who joined the Marine Corps immediately after graduating from Mt. Hermon High School. He was a rifleman assigned to the 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit of the I Marine Expeditionary Force based in Camp Pendleton, California.

PFC Brian R. Bates Jr.

Private First Class Brian R. Bates, Jr. was from Gretna, Louisiana. He attended George Cox Elementary school and Livaudais Middle school in Terrytown, Louisiana. He played basketball, baseball and soccer at Oakdale Playground.
